Exploration breakthrough of interbedded shale oil in the Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation in northern Songliao Basin and its major significance

松辽盆地北部白垩系青山口组夹层型页岩油勘探突破及其重大意义

Abstract: Following the breakthrough in the exploration of laminated clay-rich shale oil in Qingshankou Formation, substantial industrial oil flows were obtained through hydraulic fracturing of the interbedded shale oil reservoirs in the Member 2 of Qingshankou Formation in Well Yingping-9 and Well Yingping-11. This marks a major advancement in the exploration of interbedded shale oil in the northern Songliao Basin. To further support the intensified hydrocarbon exploration in this region, a comprehensive analysis was performed on the sedimentary characteristics, reservoir properties, and hydrocarbon accumulation patterns of Qingshankou Formation in the northern Songliao Basin, incorporating previous exploration results. This study preliminarily identifies favorable zone for shale oil and outlines key directions for future hydrocarbon exploration. The research results show as follows. (1) The interbedded shale oil reservoirs are genetically related to deposits in the large-scale deltaic to shore-shallow lacustrine subfacies, composed of widely distributed sandstone with significant cumulative thickness. The sandstone, interbedded with shale, form a carrier for the extensive distribution of hydrocarbons. (2) Nano- to micro-scale pores and natural fractures are largely developed in the sandstone and shale, which provide essential storage space and migration pathways for shale oil. (3) Oil generally accumulates in the interbedded sandstones and shales within mature source rocks. Oil enrichment in the sandstone is primarily controlled by its physical properties, while that in the shale is governed by the original organic carbon content and thermal maturity. (4) The favorable shale oil zones are predominantly located in the western Gulong area, southern Qijia area, Changyuan area, and Sanzhao area, covering an area exceeding 1×104 km2. These zones exhibit large-scale, continuously-distributed oil reservoirs with vast resource potential, estimated in (20-25) ×108 tons of oil. Among these, the western Gulong and southern Qijia areas possess particularly favorable geological conditions and are currently the core exploration areas.

摘要: 松辽盆地继在青山口组取得泥质纹层型页岩油勘探突破之后,在英平9井和英平11井的青山口组二段通过实施压裂,在夹层型页岩油中再获较高的工业油流,实现了松辽盆地北部夹层型页岩油勘探的重大突破。为进一步支撑该地区油气的深化勘探,结合已往的勘探成果,分析了松辽盆地北部青山口组的沉积特征、储层特征和成藏模式,初步划分了页岩油有利区带,明确了下一步的油气勘探方向。研究结果表明:①夹层型页岩油为大型三角洲相—滨/浅湖亚相沉积成因,砂岩分布面积广、累积厚度大,与页岩呈互层,为油气的大面积分布提供了载体;②砂岩、页岩中大量发育纳米—微米级孔隙和天然裂缝,为页岩油提供了富集空间和渗流通道;③成熟烃源岩内的夹层砂岩和页岩普遍含油,砂岩由物性控制其含油富集程度,页岩由原始有机碳含量和成熟度控制其含油富集程度;④页岩油的有利区主要分布在古龙地区西部、齐家地区南部、长垣地区和三肇地区,有利区面积超过1×104km2,油藏呈大规模连续分布,资源量巨大,石油资源量为(20~25)×108t,其中,古龙地区西部和齐家地区南部地质条件优越,是目前勘探的核心区。
