PETROLEUM RESOURCES EVALUATION IN CHINA AND A UNIQUE SYSTEM APPROACH

Abstract: This paper summarizes the practical experience in petroleum resources evaluation in China based on traditional geology, modern petroleum geology, exploration economics, system engineering and computer science. With geological evaluation as its basis, petroleum resources evaluation consists of geological evaluation, estimation of undiscovered oil and gas resources and exploration economics and decision making. A system approach to petroleum resources evaluation, which makes use of statistical modelling, mathematical modelling and artificial intelligence, enables us to arrive at an evaluation system, which can be divided into integrated evaluation, basin simulation, prospect assessment and exploration evaluation. A unique theory and methodology of petroleum resources evaluation with Chinese characteristics has been developed. The "TSM" system proposed by Professor Zhu Xia, i. e., Time, Tectonic setting, Thermal regime-3T, Subsidence, Sedimentation, Stress, Style-4S, Material, maturity, Migration, Maintenance-4M, serves as the theoretical background of our Study. Wth the target of study in decreasing scale, Province, Basin, Play, Prospect-PBPP, we use a method of PBC-SRTST, i.e., Paleomagnetism, Paleoclimate, Paleoecology, Paleogeography-4P, Basin's Extension Boundary, Compression Boundary, Shearing Boundary-3B, Subsidence Center, Sedimentation Center, Petroleum Generation Center-3C, Source, Reservoir, Trap, Seal, Timing-SRTST. The evaluation models include Structural Model, Generation-Reservoir Model, Hydrocarbon Accumulation Model-3 M. Risk analysis, resource quantity estimation and decision analysis make up a syste matic study of resources evaluation.

摘要: 本文以传统地质学、现代石油地质学、勘探经济学、系统工程学和计算机科学为基础,总结了我国多年来油气资源评价工作的实践经验,认为:地质评价是油气资源评价的基础,资源评价工作的内涵包括地质评价、资源量(包括各级储量)估算、勘探经济决策三部分。其外延是与系统工程技术相结合,通过统计模拟、数字模拟和人工智能的途径,编为系统软件从而形成了油气资源的评价系统。这种评价系统又分为综合评价、盆地模拟、圈闭评价和勘探评价四类。文中还提出了系统研究的对象(PBPP)、系统原理(TSM)、系统方法(PBC-SRTST)、系统模式(SM)等,从而形成了具有我国特色的一整套理论与研究方法体系(RQE),构成了石油地质勘探的软科学。
