Abstract: Direct amidation of terephthalic acid with synthetic C_12-22 aliphatic amines yields synthetic sodium C_12-22 aliphatic amine terephthalamate (SSAAT) which is an excellent thickener to various mineral oils, ester oil, sythetic hydrocarbons and silicones. Greases formulated with SSAAT show much better overall properties than ordinary ones. Four different greases, i. e. a high temperature grease, a. low temperature grease, a wheel bearing grease and a multipurpose aviation grease, have been formulated and tested with satisfactory results.

摘要： 以十八胺和对苯二甲酸二甲酯为原料制得的十八烷基对苯二酸酰胺钠盐稠化剂(以下简称十八酰钠),已在我国应用多年,性能良好。但由于制造工艺复杂,成本高,其中十八胺由硬脂酸制得,来源困难,难于推广使用。
