Abstract: Professor Pan Zhongxiang (Pan, C. H.),well-known Chinese geologist,educationist and Vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese Petroleum Society, died of heart attack on October 25th, 1983.

摘要： 潘钟祥教授河南汲县人,1931年毕业于北京大学地质系。1932至1935年在北平地质调查工作期间,先后四次到陕北进行石油地质调查,拟订了当时最高产油井的井位,并且对三叠纪和侏罗纪的植物群进行系统地研究,确定了延长统和延安统的时代。1935年至1939年间,在四川进行石油地质、煤田地质和区域地质工作。拟定了巴县石油沟气田第一口高产井的井位。
