Abstract: The results of a new study of Oligocene series in Zhoukou Basin are reported in the present paper.Based on a composite analysis of existing data,some previous recognitions have been changed.Ostracodes,charophyte,spore-pollen fossil assemblages have been established.The existence of Oligocene series in the eastern basin is confirmed and the series is classfied for the first time.The differences between Oligocene series in the east and west are demonstrated.

摘要： 本文在综合分析周口盆地渐新统现有资料的基础上修改了以往的认识,建立了本区渐新统介形类、轮藻、孢粉化石组合.盆地东部长期悬而未决的渐新统首次得到了肯定和划分.指出了盆地东部和西部渐新统存在的差异.
