Abstract: The composition of crude oils produced in people's Republic of China is summarized.Their general properties as well as the yield of different fractions are compared with world important crudes.Hydrocarbon distribution of naphtha,middle distillates,vacuum gas oil and residue are listed. Most of these crudes have the following features in common. 1.The contents of low boiling hydrocarbons are low,resulting in a high yield of vacuum gas oil and residue. 2.They are rich in paraffins,specially in normal paraffins,and therefore high in H/C ratio.The wax contents of heavy fractions are high and aromatics are low. 3.The asphaltene contents are very low,asphaltene/resin ratio are exceptionally small in residue oil. 4.The sulphur contents are low,and nitrogen contents are somewhat higher than the average world crude.Vanadium contents are low,but nickel contents are from low to moderate.
