Abstract: As rare mineral, corrensite or allevardite is seldom found in the reservoir, and both of them rarely appear simultaneously. Detailed analysis of SEM (scanning electron microscope) and X-diffraction test of special samples from Hailaer Basin shows that corrensite and allevardite (1:1 clay minerals in mixed layers) can coexist in altered reservoir of tuff or in some intervals of non-reservoir. In addition, both of them can appear continuously in a large amount within certain scope of rock pore. The combined feature of corrensite and allevardite in this area has been proposed. In combination with formation water, geochemical feature of microelement and heavy sand characteristic, the genetic mineralogy significance of corrensite and allevardite as well as other petroleum geology significance has been studied. The occurrence of coexisting corrensite and allevardite in the same reservoir sample is firstly found and reported in the world.

Key words: corrensite, allevardite, tuff, genetic mineralogy, dynamic mineralogy, Hailaer Basin
