Petroleum exploration breakthrough of Well Jifu3 in Jinan sag of Junggar Basin and its significance

准噶尔盆地吉南凹陷吉阜3井油气勘探突破及其意义

Abstract: In 2024, adhering to the "above-source, within-source, below-source" multi-layer three-dimensional exploration approach, PetroChina Tuha Oilfield Company deployed Well Jifu3 in Jinan sag of southeastern Junggar Basin. Drill-stem testing of the Upper Permian Wutonggou Formation yielded a high industrial oil flow of 96.3 t/d in Well Jifu3, marking a significant exploration breakthrough of oil reservoirs above the Permian Lucaogou Formation source rock. Based on integrated outcrop, drilling, logging, seismic, and analytical test data, a comprehensive study was performed on the structures, source rocks, and sedimentary reservoir characteristics of Wutonggou Formation oil reservoir in Jinan sag. The findings indicate that Jinan sag underwent four intense tectonic episodes during the Hercynian, Indosinian, Yanshanian, and Himalayan periods. The Yanshanian period, marked by intense oscillatory compression, constituted a critical phase in establishing the structural framework of Jinan sag. The source rocks of Lucaogou Formation are of good to excellent grades in quality, in the low-maturity to maturity stage, mainly generating oil, providing the main oil source for Jinan sag. The organic matter types and abundances of source rocks in Jinan sag are superior to those in Jimusaer sag. Wutonggou Formation develops a large braided river delta sedimentary system, where reservoirs are characterized by moderate porosity and low permeability. The primary reservoir spaces are residual intergranular pores and dissolution pores, and microfractures are relatively developed in Wutonggou Formation. Wutonggou Formation reservoir in Well Jifu3 is a structural-lithologic composite sandstone reservoir characterized by "lateral oil-generation and adjacent oil-accumulation". As controlled by source rocks, transport systems, and cap rocks, Wutonggou Formation reservoirs contains two major favorable zones in Jinan sag and the Santai uplift. The favorable zone in Jinan sag covers an exploration extent of 318 km2, representing a realistic target for significant reserve growth. The prospective zone in Santai uplift spans 212 km2, indicating significant potential for large-scale reserve expansion. This research provides a theoretical foundation for the next phase of efficient exploration in the Bogeda Mountain front of Junggar Basin, and also offers valuable insights for oil and gas exploration in similar regions at home and abroad.

摘要: 2024年,中国石油吐哈油田公司遵循"源上、源内、源下"多层系立体勘探的思路,在准噶尔盆地东南部吉南凹陷部署吉阜3井,在上二叠统梧桐沟组试油获得产油量为96.3 t/d的高产工业油流,实现了二叠系芦草沟组源上油藏勘探的重大突破。基于露头、钻井/测井、地震及其他分析测试资料,系统开展了吉南凹陷梧桐沟组油藏的构造、烃源岩和沉积储层整体研究。研究结果表明:吉南凹陷经历了海西期、印支期、燕山期和喜马拉雅期4次强烈的构造运动,其中,燕山期的构造运动以强烈的振荡性挤压为特征,是吉南凹陷构造格架定型的关键期;芦草沟组烃源岩为好—极好级别,处于低成熟—成熟阶段,以生油为主,是吉南凹陷主要的油源,其有机质类型和丰度优于吉木萨尔凹陷;梧桐沟组发育大型辫状河三角洲沉积体系,储层属中孔低渗类型,储集空间以剩余粒间孔和溶蚀孔为主,微裂缝较为发育;吉阜3井梧桐沟组油藏为"旁生侧储"型构造-岩性复合砂岩油藏;受烃源岩、输导体系和盖层控制,梧桐沟组在吉南凹陷和三台凸起发育2大有利区(吉南凹陷有利区的勘探面积达318 km2,为现实的规模增储区,而三台凸起有利区的勘探面积为212 km2,是潜在的规模增储区)。该研究为准噶尔盆地博格达山前带下一步高效勘探提供了理论依据,也为国内外类似地区的油气勘探提供了有益借鉴。
